Anyone who believes old school hip hop doesn’t have a lane in the industry must have missed Lady B’s Basement Party at The Dell Music Center. Lady B brought out legends like MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Kid N’ Play, Lisa Lisa, Big Daddy Kane, Full Force, and many more in an amazing performance that is surely to be demanding an encore this time next year. Amidst a city of violence, thousands were able to enjoy music that scaled generations. 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s babies swallowed the Dell with a bliss that a city like Philadelphia needs more often.

But it also asks the question, Can old school hip hop artist still make money in the game? The Dell brought out thousands, but is it like this from city to city?
