(EURWEB)*Smokey Robinson was reportedly at the bedside of his sister Rose Ella Jones, affectionately known as “Aunt Woody,” when she passed away Monday in Los Angeles. She was 82.

Roland Bynum of LA radio station KJLH reported that Jones died at approximately 4 p.m. at Olympia Hospital (formerly Midway Hospital).

Jones co-wrote many songs with Robinson, including “Quiet Storm,” “Daylight & Darkness” and “Virgin Man.”

Bynum said Jones was instrumental in raising Robinson along with Bynum’s mother and Robinson’s sister, Geraldine Burston.

Jones is survived by a daughter, Stacey and other relatives. Funeral arrangements are pending.
