After almost eight years, Jayson Williams has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in the accidentally killing of limousine driver, Costas “Gus” Christofi.
He was schedule to be retried for reckless manslaughter starting this week but pleaded guity to the lesser charge.
The guilty plea to aggravated assault carries a minimum 18-month sentence because a gun was involved.
Last week he was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing his SUV into a tree in New York. He fractured his neck in the accident.
He was given bail and order to wear an anklet if released.
He is still hospitalized and his lawyers says he need medical treatment for an undetermined period.
