Queen Latifah is an actress, singer, producer, host, among so many other titles and will be honored with the 2018 Marian Anderson Award. The Award which is named after the first black singer to perform at the Metropolitan Opera house is awarded to “critically acclaimed artists who have impacted society in a positive way.” Philadelphia mayor Jimmy Kinney announced on Tuesday that Queen Latifah would be this year’s recipient. Previous winners of the award include Dionne Warwick and Patti LaBelle.
