Owner of Grocery chain Acme said it will buy more than 2,500 Rite Aid pharmacies that aren’t being sold to Walgreens in a deal that will extend the Rite Aid brand in grocers across the country.
Albertsons Companies has said the Rite Aids will continue to be stand-alone stores, and most of Albertsons grocery stores will see their pharmacies rebranded as Rite Aids.
The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
