Issa Rae already has one successful HBO show, now she’s coming with another one. The ‘Insecure’ creator and star is bringing a ’90s Los Angeles drama to the premium network.
The show will set during the late Reagan era/early Clinton years and the drama will center on the marriage of Sheryl and Jackson. Sheryl, an envelope bounds-pushing real estate agent and Jackson, a conflicted LAPD anti-gang task force recruit. The potential series will also feature the couples’ teen daughter and son, Ebony and Les.
Rae recruited ‘The Turner House’ author, Angela Flournoy to write and executive produce the untitled series.
