Just days after deciding to leave Sony Music, an alleged reason for L.A. Reid‘s departure from the label has been revealed.
The New York Post reports that Reid has been accused of sexual harassment by a female assistant at Epic Records. In a letter submitted to Sony Music, the assistant claims Reid asked her to lie down in bed with him and give him a hug while the two were staying at a hotel on business. The letter says that the married exec made comments about what clothes he liked her to wear and described her as looking “fine.”
Insiders say there have been “multiple” claims made against Reid throughout his career. Sony executives spent much of the last week negotiating terms of his exit, however, they settled on a simple statement, “L.A. Reid will be leaving the company.” L.A. Reid has been with the label for six years and is responsible for careers like Future, Travis Scott and DJ Khaled.
The exec has yet to comment on the allegations.
