The School District of Philadelphia announced last week that 1,165 students from Science Leadership Academy, Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, and Science Leadership Academy Middle School have the chance to check out the Oscar nominated movie ‘Hidden Figures’ thanks to a donation of $13K.

The donation came from employees of DuPont and Deloitte.

‘Hidden Figures’ is based on true events of female African-American mathematicians who aided NASA’s 1960s space race.

“The positive experience allowed students to learn about the contributions of African-American innovators as schools across the city celebrate Black History Month,” the Philadelphia School District said in a statement.

If you haven’t had the chance to check out the Screen Actors Guild Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture 2017, go see it soon.
