DAY 4 OF THE SEPTA STRIKE

SEPTA filed a lawsuit Friday afternoon seeking to end the strike by the Transport Workers Union Local 234, whose members have been on the picket line since Tuesday.

The suit, filed in the Court of Common Pleas, seeks an injunction on the grounds that the strike constitutes a “clear and present danger to the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Philadelphia and the region.”

Democratic city leaders are working to help end the strike before Election Day. SEPTA says they asked the union to assure residents that, if necessary, they will suspend the strike on Election Day if no agreement is reached.

Police say a 21 year old Christian Clark has been charged for smothering her 17-month-old son then texting a video of the boy’s dead body to his father 23 year old Andre Price Jr.

The two were arguing when Clark sent texts to the father including, “Ya kids ain’t safe here I don’t want them here” and “I’m killing them” – followed by a laughing emoji.

Police have also arrested Price on child endangerment charges because he didn’t call 911 after Clark threatened to kill the children.
