Yale University has set new evolving standard with their new gender-neutral bathrooms, now located in 23 buildings throughout the campus.
It is one of several changes made in the past school year designed to make the university friendlier to transgender students, staff and visitors, school officials said.
Professors are now permitted to use students preferred name when addressing them, and the school is also allowing transgender students to change their names on their school identification card and the school’s web portal at no charge. They also will take it as far as allowing transgender student to use chosen name rather than birth name on their diplomas.
