Are you having a hard time finding fun things to do this Summer?  Well Old School’s got you covered for the Summer, here are some events going on in the city that you and your family can enjoy!

 

7/16 The Oval (2601 Benjamin Franklin Parkway)-Tonight kicks off the opening of the summer season of “The Oval on the Parkway.”  The park will be open from 5pm to 10pm and there will be a variety of activities.  There’s live music, a giant game of chess, the popular “beer garden”, face painting, food trucks and more!!  The Oval is located at the top of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and will be bringing Summer fun five days a week until Sunday, August 23.  For more information, go to http://www.theovalphl.org/events/

 

7/25 Praise at Clementon Park/Splash World (144 Berlin Rd, Clementon, NJ 08021)- Join Praise 103.9 at Clementon Park & Splash World for “Praise in the Park”.  *The event is Free with paid admission or season pass.  Have good wholesome fun, riding your favorite amusement park rides, while listening to some of your favorite Gospel music!

 

8/9 “Trench Town Rock” –Bob Marley 70th birthday Celebration ( Fairmount Park 4300 Avenue of the Republic, Phila., PA)– The Jamaica Pennsylvania Association will be celebrating the life and legacy of Reggae pioneer, Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley.  Marley made his last live performance in Pittsburgh, PA.  Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, will be celebrating his life with Jamaican food, art and music from a live concert with performances by: Ky-Mani Marley, Tessanne Chin from “The Voice”, Maxi Priest just to name a few.  Children 10 years and younger are free with parent supervision.  Call: (215) 594-1555 for information

 

7/16 University City Dining Days- Returns for its 11th year of discounted dinners at more than 30 local restaurants.  Dinners are priced at $15, $25  or $35 at these participating restaurants and will continue to Sunday, July, 26.  This is a great opportunity to explore University City, one restaurant at a time, so make reservations while you can.  For more info visit: www.universitycity.org
