Did you know that former American Idol finalist Clay Aiken was on the ballot today to represent a part of North Carolina in The House of Representatives? Well, he was and unfortunately he lost to the Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers. In an ironic, foreshadowing twist of events, Aiken’s campaign bus broke down not long after he cast his vote this morning. Now, it’s not everyday that a finalist from a world renowned singing competition runs for Congress but I’m sure Clay Aiken’s attempted journey from contestant to Congressman is quite an interesting read.
