A man and his 5-year-old son were hit while crossing the Roosevelt Boulevard In Northeast Philadelphia during what police say was a hit-and-run.

It happened at the boulevard’s intersection with Rhawn Street.

The man was killed, but the little boy is at St. Christopher’s Hospital in stable condition.

An off-duty police officer saw the incident and followed the driver. He managed to pull the car over and arrest the driver at Borbeck and the Boulevard.

This is the same area that was just named by all-state as one of the worst in the country for accidents.
