Hip-hop legend Chuck D from Public Enemy is filing a lawsuit against Universal Music Group for not paying royalties. Universal did not give the proper amount of money for digital downloads and ringtones that Chuck D made. The contract states that artists and producers receive $80.33 for every 1,000 downloads, when the correct amount should be $315.85 per 1,000. As far as the ringtones goes, one is to recieve $49.89 per thousand downloads, as opposed to the $660 per 1,000 that the suit claims is actually owed. I think that Chuck D is right for suing, dont you think?
