There appears to be a little glitch in the NFL owners’ agreement to end the lockout—only one party agreed to anything, reports Pro Football Talk. “There is no agreement between the NFL and the Players at this time,” reads an email sent yesterday by the players’ association boss, noting that “issues that need to be collectively bargained remain open; other issues such as workers compensation, economic issues and end of deal terms remain unresolved.” Despite having several significant issues outstanding, NFL owners are apparently trying to pressure the players into accepting the deal as is. “The owners were hoping the PR press of their vote would pressure players into an incomplete deal,” writes Connor Simpson at the Atlantic. ESPN is reporting the players’ representatives could approve the deal today, while Pro Football Talk says even a vote is unlikely at this point.
