*Sony Pictures is said to be meeting with writers to pitch ideas for a second installment of the “The Karate Kid” remake, according to Deadline.
Director Harald Zwart has stated he’s down for a sequel, but so far, no word from producers Will and Jada Smith as to whether it will happen.
As previously reported, the new ‘Kid’ starring Jaden Smith pulled in an opening gross of $56 million this past weekend, more than making back its $40 million budget in under three days.
